The Issues.

Seven priorities for Senate District 41 — built on listening, common sense, and the day-to-day realities of working Iowans.

Accountability

Honest, Accountable Leadership

People are tired of politics that feel disconnected from real life. Too often, decisions are made without listening to the people they affect.

Tom is running to bring practical, actionable, and accountable leadership back to Iowa. He believes in listening first, working with others where there's common ground, and always putting the interests of local communities ahead of politics.

Cost of Living

Lowering Costs for Families

It's obvious, the cost of living for Americans has gotten out of control and continues to get worse. People across Southeast Iowa are working harder than ever and getting less from their pay and the products they buy. Groceries, gas, rent, and childcare are becoming unaffordable to the average Iowan.

Tom Wieck is running to focus on practical ways to lower out-of-control costs. That means representing working families, fighting for fair wages including raising Iowa's minimum wage, ensuring that Iowans are put to work ahead of out-of-state contractors, supporting local businesses, and making sure everyday essentials stay within reach.

Agriculture

Supporting Farmers & Rural Communities

Our farmers and rural communities are the backbone of Southeast Iowa. But that's at risk due to Trump's tariffs harming American farmers. Family farms feel squeezed by rising costs, market access, and decisions made in Washington.

Tom Wieck will work to support family farms to find cost-effective and grant supported improvements to farmland, and make sure our communities have the tools they need to grow and succeed. Strong rural communities mean a stronger Iowa for everyone.

Healthcare

Protecting Healthcare Access

No one should worry about whether they can afford the care they need in a medical situation or have to drive an hour just to see a doctor. In too many parts of our district, healthcare is becoming harder to access and more expensive.

Tom believes we need to protect local healthcare services, keep rural hospitals strong, keep people on Medicaid without work requirements, and lower the cost of prescriptions. Healthcare isn't about politics, it's about making sure families can get the quality care they need, when they need it.

Jobs & Education

Creating Good Jobs & Strong Schools

Strong schools and good-paying jobs go hand in hand. When we invest in education and support our teachers, we're building a future where our kids can succeed, families choose to stay in Iowa and where people can find good jobs right here at home.

Tom believes in supporting local schools, expanding opportunities for job training, and helping grow an economy where hard work pays off. No one should have to leave our communities just to find opportunity.

Property Rights

Protecting Property Rights

Your land is your livelihood, your legacy, and your future. It should not be taken for private corporate gain.

Tom Wieck believes strongly that the government should not force landowners to give up their property so private billion dollar corporations can profit. He will stand up for landowners and make sure your rights are protected.

Clean Water

Protecting Iowa's Water

Clean water isn't optional. It's our birthright and our future. But too many of Iowa's rivers, lakes, and drinking-water sources are under pressure from runoff and contamination — and Iowans shouldn't have to wonder whether the water coming out of the tap is safe.

Tom Wieck will fight for common-sense water protections that hold polluters accountable and support farmers who invest in conservation. Protecting Iowa's water means protecting Iowa's future.
