A lifelong Iowan, a builder by upbringing, and a leader by experience — running for the families who build this state.
Tom Wieck was born and raised in West Des Moines, the son and grandson of homebuilders. His childhood was spent on job sites — sweeping sawdust, hauling scraps, watching holes in the ground transform into framed houses and eventually family homes.
That upbringing instilled a fundamental truth: he doesn't know what it's like not to work. From hauling newspapers at twelve, to working through restaurants and college, to a summer in Alaska, two years teaching English in Tokyo, and a year backpacking across Europe, Asia, and Australia — Tom learned early that effort is the price of everything worth having.
For the past 25 years, he has channeled that perspective into a career focused on Operational Excellence — leading major improvements across aerospace, defense, healthcare, and agribusiness. His specialty: integrating people, processes, and tools so organizations aren't just busy, but truly efficient.
Now Tom is ready to apply those skills to the state that raised him — running for Iowa Senate District 41 to make Iowa a better place for his children, his grandchildren, and yours.
